Our Mission and Goals
How we plan to save 430,000 years of life in Nottinghamshire
Our mission is to improve the health and well being of people in Nottinghamshire.
This summary of our five-year Strategic Plan sets out how we intend to achieve this.
By March 2014, we will have reduced health inequalities within Nottinghamshire. We will achieve this by commissioning highly productive and sustainable healthcare services that are safe, effective and highly rated by patients.
If we succeed, we will save 430,000 years of life.
The overall aim of NHS Nottinghamshire County is to improve the health and well being of people in Nottinghamshire.
To achieve this, we have adopted three main goals:
- Reduce inequalities: by closing the health gaps that exist between our more affluent and disadvantaged communities, so that more people are living longer. Watch videos about our health priorities.
- Improve quality: by delivering services that are safer and better for patients - and amongst the best in the country. Everyone who works for the local NHS has a contribution to make. Learn more about the performance of NHS Nottinghamshire County.
- Improve productivity: by managing our budgets well and ensuring best value for money. Find out about how your money is spent, and our plans to make it go further.
