More than 10,000 people in Nottinghamshire have dementia and this will double in 30 years.
By 2014 we plan to increase the number of people with a diagnosis of dementia to 50% of the prevalence.
Why? Only 38% of people with dementia in Nottinghamshire have a diagnosis. A diagnosis can enable people to plan for their future, access care and support and live a better quality of life.
How? Services for those with early dementia, improved memory assessment services across the county, support for GPs in diagnosing patients, specialist outreach teams into care homes.
