Books on Prescription
The ‘Books on Prescription Scheme’ is available in many areas in Nottinghamshire.

The scheme allows patients to access a range of approved self-help book titles (through their GP), which they can then work through at their own pace. The aim is to enable people to help themselves in tackling mental well-being issues.

Ask your GP or mental health worker, if you have one, about the availability of ‘Books on Prescription’ in your area.

Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (cCBT)

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is based on the principle that there is a close link between how we think, how we feel and how we act. Computerised CBT uses an interactive computer interface to deliver CBT, rather than a therapist. Therapists will sometimes provide additional support people to help them get the most out of their cCBT.

Nottinghamshire County PCT is in the process of introducing cCBT across the county. Keep checking this site for details.

The following websites offer free online cCBT, although they do require you to register with them.
