Education for people with Type 2 Diabetes in Greater Nottingham
What services are available?
In line with national requirements, all people who are newly diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes should have the opportunity to attend a programme of structured education. This will provide them with the knowledge and skills to enable them to manage their condition better.
Development work is currently underway to design a course for people with Diabetes who live in the areas of Gedling, Rushcliffe, Broxtowe & Hucknall, as well as those living within the boundaries of Nottingham City PCT.
More information will be made available once the course has been implemented.
Type 2 Diabetes Education courses will not replace the advice and guidance given by your GP practice; it is part of your overall treatment. In addition your practice may offer other group or individual education.
How can I access these services?
As usual, patients will be able to contact their GP practice for advice and guidance about any aspect of their diabetes care, and if necessary GP practices can refer patients for further treatment.
