In Mansfield and Ashfield 1 in 3 adults is seriously overweightWelcome to the ‘it’s your health-take care of it’ campaign website!  The aim of our campaign is to raise awareness of health issues, and encourage local people in Mansfield and Ashfield to live more healthily. 

Our campaign website offers you lots of information and links about services and activities in Mansfield and Ashfield that will help you and your family to improve your health and wellbeing.

It’s a sad fact that people who live in Mansfield and Ashfield are probably less healthy than many people elsewhere.  Local statistics do vary. But overall, health in Mansfield and Ashfield is much worse than the national average.

Walking for Health

Walking is a great way to exercise, reduce stress and improve mental health. Walking for Health is a scheme run in partnership between the Department of Health and Natural England, which organises group walks across Nottinghamshire. There are over 20 free Walking for Health schemes across the county. These are suitable for all levels of experience, are sociable and free. Do you want to stop smoking?

1 in 4 adults in Mansfield and Ashfield smokeEven if you have smoked for the best part of your life, it is never too late to stop and see the benefits. You may think that because you have smoked for so long the damage may be done and there is no point in stopping. This is not so.
 
There are immediate health benefits from the moment you stub your last cigarette out and decide to quit smoking, even if you are already suffering with ill health problems.
